Use cases

What is Cooper Email used for?

Cooper Email gives each AI agent its own email inbox over HTTP or MCP, so the agent can sign up for services, read verification codes, and send and receive mail as itself. Free covers a few personal agents. Starter adds your own domain for a production agent. Pro is for products that give every customer or agent its own inbox.

No public URL? Use /wait, /wait-for-code, or SSE instead of a webhook.

Free: for one builder testing agents

Free is for a builder who wants a few agents to have their own address, without a card or a custom domain.

Give your personal agent its own address.

Connect Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, or Grok Bot through MCP and create name@cooperemail.com, so the agent stops borrowing your personal mailbox.

Let a browser agent finish signups.

The agent submits the form, then GET /inboxes/{id}/wait-for-code holds for up to 55 seconds and returns the code.

Approve before anything is sent.

Approval mode holds every send until a verified owner approves that exact draft.

Let agents email each other.

Two agents on different stacks need only an address each. Account search finds the thread later.

Why Free fits: 5 inboxes · 5,000 emails/month · no daily cap · no card. No custom domain and no SMS on Free.

Phone number: Free includes none. Buying a number returns HTTP 402 plan_limit_exceeded.

Create a free inbox

Starter: for a production agent on your own domain

Starter is for a small team running one production agent from its own domain.

Support or hello@ inbox on your domain.

The agent triages, drafts, and replies in the same thread. Signed webhooks fire on each new message.

Invoice and receipt inbox.

Text is extracted from PDF, DOCX, and XLSX attachments, and every message is full-text searchable.

Test inboxes per CI run.

Create up to 25 at once with a TTL so they clean themselves up. Add up to 3 numbers to receive SMS codes.

Vendor or quote outreach from a subdomain.

Owner approval and a suppression list keep sends deliberate.

Why Starter fits: 25 inboxes · 25,000 emails/month · 15 custom domains · 25 GB · up to 3 SMS numbers at $3 each (receive only).

Phone number: up to 3 US numbers, each $3 a month with 100 segments. None are included.

Start Starter, $12/month

Pro: for products that give every customer or agent an inbox

Pro is for products and fleets that give every customer or agent its own inbox.

An inbox per customer in your SaaS.

Workspaces give each customer an API key and an inbox quota, optionally on the customer's own domain.

Agent fleets.

Create up to 100 inboxes per request so each autonomous agent has its own identity for suppliers, customers, and signups.

Outbound and reply qualification.

Spread sending across up to 200 domains. Bounces and complaints are suppressed automatically.

Workflow inboxes.

Logistics, closings, procurement: threaded negotiations, a webhook on each reply, and a human for the exceptions.

Why Pro fits: 300 inboxes · 250,000 emails/month · 200 custom domains · 100 GB · 3 SMS numbers and 1,500 segments included, up to 25 numbers (receive only).

Phone number: 3 US numbers and 1,500 segments included, up to 25 numbers. Each extra number is $3 a month with 100 segments.

Start Pro, $99/month

Your agent gets a phone number

Starter and Pro agents can buy a US local number through the API or MCP and receive SMS on that inbox. Each billable number is $3 a month. Pro includes 3 numbers. Voice calling is coming soon.

What works today

  • Buy a US number with POST /api/v1/inboxes/{id}/phone-number {"area_code":"415"} or the MCP tool cooper_provision_phone_number. A verified owner is required (HTTP 409 owner_required). Idempotency-Key is supported. GET reads the number and DELETE releases it.
  • Inbound texts are stored on the inbox as messages with channel sms. Cooper sends a message.received webhook. otp_candidates lists codes found in the text.
  • Wait with the MCP tool cooper_wait_for_sms (default 20 seconds, maximum 25). GET /api/v1/inboxes/{id}/events?types=message.received&wait=25 waits for the next received message on the inbox, email or SMS. It does not filter to SMS.
  • STOP, STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUIT, OPTOUT, and REVOKE opt that sender out. START, YES, or UNSTOP clears the opt-out. A send to an opted-out recipient returns HTTP 409 recipient_opted_out.
  • Price: $3 a month per billable number on Starter and Pro, with 100 segments on that number.

What is not ready

  • Texting arbitrary recipients from a customer number returns HTTP 409 outbound_not_registered until per-customer registration launches.
  • Voice calling is coming soon.
  • When SMS is turned off for a deployment, the phone-number and SMS routes return HTTP 404.
A phone receives a one-time code by textSMS482913Agent numberStored on the inboxwebhook or wait
An OTP or 2FA text arrives on the agent’s number, is stored on the inbox, and can wake the agent by webhook or wait. Voice calling is coming soon.

When Cooper is not the right fit

  • You need a SOC 2 report. Cooper does not have one yet.
  • You need WebSockets, SMTP, or IMAP. Cooper is HTTP API and MCP only, with webhooks, long-poll, and SSE.
  • You need an agent to text arbitrary people now. Cooper numbers receive SMS today. Sending to arbitrary recipients waits on a business registration that is not available yet.
  • Above 250,000 emails a month, overage is $1 per 1,000. For enterprise terms, email ops@avatar33.com.

Operator: Avatar 8 LLC. Email ops@avatar33.com.
